Please supervise your children at ALL times. Help us all stay healthy and keep sick children home. Please, no outside food. Please keep all food in the cafe area.

Play Area Specifics

We have installed a new block corral to increase our "construction zone." We also have a reading nook, play kitchen, tree house, custom train table, and soft toy area. Our goal is to keep things simple using natural wood products that are open-ended so kids can interact with each other and use their imagination. It is an atmosphere where families can enjoy an outing together, in a place designed for both parents AND children. We will be continuing to update our play area to add variety in order to keep it fun. The play area is designed for children 6 and under. Older children are encouraged to "help" the little ones and be assistants. We generally discourage rough-housing and running.

The custom elements of our play area were designed by a local Boulder play ground designer, Sawhorse Studios. The modular wooden pieces and blocks come from Community Playthings, a company based in the US. The wooden fruit from a company based in Europe.

We tend to be busier from 10-1pm and on colder days, but everyday is different. The $4.50 ($2.50 for siblings) entrance fee is good for all day and we offer monthly and annual passes.

Wholesome Food Options

All of our sandwiches have the option of coming with multi grain bread including kid's sandwiches. Our artisan sliced bread is made locally from Udi's. We also have tasting plates with options like carrot sticks, cucumbers, apples, black beans, cheese, and nitrate free turkey and ham. Our milk is hormone free, and we use locally roasted, organic fair trade coffee from Conscious Coffees. We make our sauces and dressings in house. We have vegetarian option such as the Yam sandwich, as well as a no-cheese pizza. We offer Gluten Free and vegan pastries made locally. We will try and accommodate many different eating styles, so if you have a special request, let us know!

Keeping it clean

It is extremely important to us to keep Play Grounds clean. We clean the play area daily with a natural child safe cleanser. The entire cafe eating area and bathrooms are cleaned and sanitized every day by a professional cleaning agency. We wipe down, sweep up and straighten many times throughout the day. We offer a natural, organic hand sanitizer and wipes. We ask that you remove your shoes in order to keep it clean for the kiddos. Feel free to bring in slippers/ house shoes to wear as well!

Food Allergies

Our bread and pastries are made in a facility that processes nuts, and we do have peanut butter on the menu. We will try and accommodate specific food allergies by preparing to your needs to avoid mixing ingredients. If the allergy is severe, please let us know and you are welcome to bring your own food in. We now carry Gluten Free pastries from local baker Outrageous Grains as well as offer vegan and other dairy free options.
